All Stars

My best friend Becky and I went to a lovely little festival called All Stars last weekend. We live 6 hours apart now, but the festival just happened to be smack dab in the middle between us so we couldn't pass up the opportunity. I didn't really take any photos myself - except of mushrooms and slugs - so these aren't mine but ones I pilfered from others sharing their own of the event. I had a fantastic time and I'm glad we were able to come together for it!



We both seem to be pretty stealthy/unnoticed by photographers and I haven't seen a single photo of myself - not even in the background - and this below is the only shot of Becky I could find. She's really a smiley happy lady but we both get into our dancing-serious-face poses without realizing it. I love my Beckinoodle!

The vibe was cozy and intimate, with only a few hundred people in attendance. It was refreshing after having gone to some really big festivals in the last few years. I saw a few familiar faces, but this festival being further South into Ontario rather than North into Quebec, I didn't know too many people.



This is definitely a weekend I'll remember fondly in years to come. These are the moments I live for and the experiences I strive to live. I hope you all have good weekend. Cheers!

Without Words

I'm just taken aback by the surprise gift my friend made for me. She and I have known each other for years now, and she knows more about me than most people ever will. Even though we've never met in person - we're in completely different hemispheres and continents - I still consider her one of my closest and dearest friends. And there's nothing better than knowing that sentiment is returned in kind. My friend is an amazing artist... and this is with what she surprised me!

I feel like I could explode from loving this so much! The funniest part is that she posted it on Facebook and I noticed the gecko before realizing it was me haha...This makes me so happy. Definitely something I'm going to treasure and love for a long time. Aw friendship, how it does warm the cockles of my heart! I highly suggest you check out more of her amazing art on her Deviant Art profile where she posts as Chaotic-AlterEgo. Now to try and calm myself down enough to actually get to sleep... <3

Past Pandemonium

I can't believe I never got around to posting my photos from the Pandemonium Festival! Apparently I just take forever to do just about everything these days, unless it involves food or laundering my school uniform. So here, months after the fact, are the photos (a whole whack of them) from my time spent with my wonderful friends Becky and Marty at the Pandemonium 2012 music festival back in August.

I consider this to have been my very best and most favourite festival experience so far, in the few years I've been attending. It's one of those times that will stay with me until my very last, a joyous time I take out and turn around in my hands and smile in gladness, knowing it is mine and no one can take it away. I love my friends, so very dearly, and I love that we shared this experience together. I hope you may all know such joy and goodness. Cheers!

Love All The Trees

Earlier this month I went for a walk through the Arboretum by Dow's Lake to take some photos of the changing trees. I was still a bit early in the season to really catch the trees in their full splendor, but it was a lovely sight nonetheless. And as much as I dislike winter, there's nothing like a crisp fall afternoon with the sun shining down!

I didn't feel like carting my tripod with me all the way there so that explains why my outfit photos are still being taken on my boring old terrace. At least the maple tree behind me is sort of starting to change over! I've had this jacket a little over a year now, and I'm still so happy to have thrifted it. It's perfect for the nippier days and the cooler nights.

I'm going to head out for a little evening stroll with my good friend Tina soon - it's great now that she's living nearby again - to enjoy another lovely clear night. There's barely a breeze and the sky is void of clouds so the moon - even less than full - is shining its light down on everything. The yellow and orange leaves look so otherworldly in their moon-glow. I hope you're all having a lovely week so far! Cheers!

Encore Montreal

Way back in July, I went to visit my friend Nicole in Montreal. I never finished posting all the photos from that trip, so here's the last batch. I figure I aught to at least finish doing that before I start getting into my festival photos from Pandemonium. Not to mention in less than a week I start my pastry classes and I'll probably have tasty things to share with you all too. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Montréal!



We went to a record and book shop, and got a bit lost in the Old Port area trying to find an art supply store. Chinatown was also quite amusing for me, and I probably enjoyed all the cute happy things a little too much hah. But hey, check out this happy little ravioli?!



On my last day we went to the Tam-Tams with some of Nicole's awesome friends. It was a gorgeous day and it was really nice just chilling in the shade and listening to the music and watching all the happy people doing much the same.



I had such a great weekend with Nicole. I just wish I'd been organized enough to go visit more than once this summer! I did so much with my summer though, I can't really complain. If you ever find yourself in Montreal on the right day for the Tam-Tams, I totally recommend going. Cheers!
